The complete 2024-2025 Fairfax County Public Schools Family Life Education curriculum, Kindergarten through 12th grade, including the Modified Curriculum, can be accessed by parents using their Student Information System Parent account to log into Schoology at https://www.fcps.edu/schoology/parents
In addition, PDF files of all Family Life Education lessons (except videos) are available to the public at the Fairfax County Public Library located in Fairfax City where they may copy the lessons onto their personal flash/thumb drives.
The Modified Curriculum is divided into two categories: Emotional and Social Health and Human Growth and Development. Since sets of lessons cover Grades 1 - 6, 5 -12, and 7 – 12, some materials may not be age appropriate and parents are encouraged to review lessons in advance.
Parents are cautioned that Emotional and Social Health, Relationships, , Grades 1 - 6, Lesson 2, slide 5 (and again in the lesson Activity Sheet, page 19) depicts a boy wearing a sweater and pants changing into a dress, thereby promoting transgender indoctrination among a highly vulnerable group of children.
Parents may be concerned about powerful emotional issues raised by slides 20 and 21 which show a parent losing a job; slides 26 – 34 that show parents divorcing; and slides 39 – 46 that deal with the death of parents, friends, and pets.
In the HGD Modified STI Slide Presentation, slide 18 depicts a subdued cartoon image of male-on-female sex while slides 20, 21, 23, 34 and 50 depict subdued cartoon images of male-on-male sex.
A number of lessons in the Modified Curriculum that are factual and candid also contain highly graphic illustrations of sexual organs and functions.
Because the Modified Curriculum combines so many grade levels into a single set of lessons, parents are encouraged to read the entire Modified Curriculum in order to decide whether to opt out or not.
